Dollar Double Date

It's one thing to affect my own. It's another to influence others. But Danielle's special friend has been hanging around quite a while now (more on that later), so Jeff things are just gonna happen.

When told where we were going, Ari sounded a little concerned. Which totally makes sense when he told us his grandmother said betting on horses was illegal! But she still let him go with us, so...

Of course, we had to break the law him in with some totally legal wagering. And I gotta say, not too shabby for someone who only got a 5 minute explanation of the racing form from a fellow 15 year old.

6 races wagered @ $2 each...

Jeff: 2 tickets cashed, -$6.80

Jenny: 5 tickets cashed, +$3.60

Danielle: 3 tickets cashed, EVEN

Ari: 3 tickets cashed, -$4.00

Totally legal good time had by all for under $20. Can't beat it!

As regular a sight as the horses themselves. And always livening things up with some Name-That-Tune moments between races.

But why only 6 races? Turns out Dollar Day is now advertised on Tik Tok. And the people have spoken: if it looks fun on Tik Tok, it must be fun. People, ALL PEOPLE, must go!

To put it another way, the crowd was bigger than any we've ever seen! Lines for $1 food & drink were unreal. So, we called an audible about 9 o'clock.

Sure, a little more spendy than $1 hot dogs, but always second to none.
