Inbox to Endzone

Thank you USAA for sponsoring the Salute to Service for the NFL! While it is always good to recognize and honor our military heroes, this time it actually had a direct impact on us.

On Friday, I got the word -- I was awarded 2 tickets to attend the recent Cowboys v. Cardinals Monday Night Football game! (plus a fabulous parking pass...)

Jeff and I have been to AT&T stadium, but never for a Cowboys game, so it was a neat opportunity and experience. There was a rally towel waiting for us on our seats (and one on every other seat in this ginormous arena), so that was fun to see all the motion during a few of the "better" moments during the game. While one might expect the place to be energized with so many people in one place, it wasn't quite as expected. Not sure if it is just hard to fill such a large space or if it was the fact that the Cowboys were having an off-night (and season) and the fans are just not quite as excitable.

Former President Bush was present for the coin toss...

Lee Greenwood performed during the half time show for the military moment.

NOTE: I was somewhat distracted by all the things around the stadium: the wires holding the above-field camera, the retractable roof (which was closed), the rotating cheerleaders and the one approved to have a ponytail(!), the rally squad on the side lines -- one of whom Jeff knows through the Dallas Stars.

After the game, we had passes to go on the field and see things from a different perspective. Super cool.

No, no players on the field post-game -- only in the concourse pre-game. ๐Ÿ˜

Ah, the glory days...

Oh, and for the record, the Cowboys lost: 17-25, but we were still winners! ๐Ÿ˜
