Hornucopia Blow-out Day(s)

The stars aligned for the UK year-round school system, Pickens County school district and Lewisville ISD and allowed for Hornucopia Summer 2025 to happen! There was a 4 day window for the Horn family to descend upon The Colony, cramming in as much togetherness as possible. Older sister Julie is like a shark and must remain in motion -- she activates the plan to pack the day with endless activities. Younger sister Jessica has an automatic, sure, let's do it - I'll drive. Middle sister Jenny goes along and tends to tap the brakes. Mimi and Pa do an amazing job keeping up with the maddening pace and ever-changing plans.

Time for matching shirts and family time...here we go!

After slightly delayed flights touched down from England (via Boston) and South Carolina (via Ashville), it started with food...first meal at Panera...and the first round of planning. (NOTE: Unfortunate for Jeff as he was up at 3a that night - not confirmed, but timing seemed to indicate it was something he ate for dinner...)

We knew there would be limited time when everyone could be together (due to Naomi's crazy summer school demands - Calc 3 and Physics 2, and Danielle's work and VB commitments - thanks for everyone coming to Dallas!). Thus we reserved Sunday as Hornucopia Blowout Day! We had conducted a survey on what the cousins wanted to do most, and slotted in as much as we could. The adventure kicked off with a hike at Arbor Hills at 8a.

Then the main event took place at Main Event -- because it offered a variety of activities from everyone's top 5 list -- so let's do it all, all day! Thank you Mimi and Pa for making it happen.

Two rounds of bowling

Three rounds of laser tag (who knew Danielle was such a sharp shooter)

Nice, even match-up!

90 minutes of non-stop games

Short break to consume Mexican food supper

Returning to Main Event for more all-access activities!

Cue the memories - all the cousins faced off

Everyone survived day 1! Next up -- throwback shirts and a day with a bit more tame activities: puzzling, shopping, Pei Wei, swimming, Camel Up
1000 piece National Parks - assembled!

Danielle took our dinner orders at Culver's!

After resting up, we were again ready for more go! We thought there might only be a single day with everyone, but things managed to work out for another extravaganza day.

A bit of melting at Top Golf

A bit of freezing while ice skating

Smart group of cousins escaped!

Smart group of sisters deactivated the bomb

Spring Creek BBQ

Hornucopia Arcade Party

Stall Ball

Summer Birthdays Bash

Cousin Sleep Over (chess and Wicked)

And apparently face masks, too. 🤷

Phew, what an amazing time together with family! We are thankful it all worked out.

(A few updates pending the acquisition of additional pictures...)
