Closing out Spring Break, there was motivation to add in a small get-away, on the 5th anniversary of coronavirus, to the same place where we were back then: Galveston and Houston! Yep, the world is a lot different now than it was 5 years ago: crowds of people everywhere breathing freely.
No better way to kick off the warmth and sunshine than at the beach! I don't consider us "beach people", but we do all enjoy a nice stroll along the water, the sounds of the waves and relaxing with a good book.

Yes, yes, my favorite is jumping photos at the water's edge! I'm glad my family obliges.
Jeff's favorite water activity is, of course, a ferry! Amazing how fast the last five years seems to have flown by, but the Bolivar ferries look exactly the same. (BTW, partial motivation for going to Galveston...😏)

Guess what?! There's a new Meow Wolf location in Houston! Welcome to ETNL Radio Tave, our fifth location. (No surprise here, this was definitely motivation for going to Houston...but more on that in the next post!)
There must be something special about growing up in the 80's. Jeff has a homing device and can find all cool 80's themed eateries!
Hungry Like the Wolf hit the spot. (
Are any 90's themed places...🤔) BTW, I'm regularly amazed at how I can't remember what I did last week, but I can belt out lyrics from 40 years ago when a song starts playing.... Music is powerful.
And the final motivation for our Spring Break ending: Naomi needed a ride back to A&M! (She
rode home with friends last weekend.)
Naomi is an excellent tour guide, and enjoyed showing off her walking routes and a few of her engineering-related buildings. She knows how to recount a tale, including where she almost got hit by a car and where she had to carry her burrito bag in the rain. Not sure how she managed to order up a perfect day for us, as opposed to the blazing heat that she had to endure much of last semester.
Her ("Cadillac") dining plan got us lunch at The Commons dining hall, where we enjoyed yummy nachos, tasty stir fry and the most delicious chocolate milk! (The final, and quite possibly, the strongest motivation...🥛)
Our week with Naomi was quite enjoyable! She is such a neat person, with a funny sense of humor (a la Jeff's influence!) and great energy that is all her own. Always family, but nice being a family all together again. 💜
Wonderful trip - Excellent post!
