Naomi Time

Stars aligned with a multitude of events and Naomi was motivated to come home again for another visit! She had Fall Break on the same weekend as Jeff's birthday and our church's Harvest Market - so plenty to keep us all very busy! (Not to mention her engineering homework that never seems to end..)

Our church has been hosting a fall bazaar for years, and Naomi has taking a liking to it. She looks forward to it each year, as she is enticed by all the tempting treasures!

I personally go for the edible items (tamales, yes please!). Naomi targets the holiday earrings! She couldn't resist the Halloween-ish candy corn dangle earrings this year (although she was slightly annoyed and felt a bit scammed when she found her "hand-crafted" ones for sale on Temu for 1/5 the price. Capitalism.)

Of course Naomi had to make it home for Jeff's always-epic arcade birthday party! Turns out she was a winner in one round of Stall Ball.

And she got to be a part of the big "I have never held a monkey" surprise! Guess she'll never be able to put that on her birthday list...

Naomi's visit coincided nicely with the timing of another family tradition: a family outing to get our yearly flu (and now covid) vaccines. So off to CVS we headed for more family togetherness! Teachin'em all the healthy habits.

When asked by the pharmacist for verification for each of us, Jeff loudly and clearly annunciated his birthday (which happened to be the day we were there - nothing like getting a shot on your actual birthday!). When they acknowledged his birthday, he asked for a lollipop. They gave us all free popcorn instead.

It was nice to celebrate Jeff as a complete family. Danielle added a new element of fun to the gift opening, by numbering the gifts and creating an online wheel to help Jeff select which gift to open next!

Naomi and Danielle showered Jeff with love and his retro food favorites!

Naomi helped out in the media booth at church, spent a fair number of hours working on chemistry, math and coding, and loved on Trixie throughout her 4 days at home. It was wonderful having her around, even if there was hardly a moment to relax!
