The season is well underway, and our favorite #6 is having a fabulous time on the TCHS Freshman volleyball team!
It is a rather large team (14 players and 3 managers), but Danielle has earned her way near the top of the roster and typically plays all the way around the court, for most sets in each game. While she prefers being in the back row on defense, she is improving her hits up front. She also manages to get a block from time to time!
Being on the high school team is a big step up from middle school and quite a commitment with early mornings each week and games after school twice a week. There are also a couple Saturday tournaments. Danielle is certainly experiencing maximum volleyball!
Danielle is improving with all the extra practice and play time. Her team does pretty well against their competition, though their current record does not quite reflect how close they have been. They are all still working to minimize mistakes and learn to play together.
I have assumed the role of videographer, which actually just helps me stay calm(er) during the game and keep my reactions to a minimum! However, my filming skills are definitely amateur as a finger will occasionally show up and I forget to include the score every so often. I am thankful that youTube grants me free space to share these "unlisted" game videos. Here are a couple:
The team is now at the point in the season when the games start to matter for their official district record. Let's Go Cougars!
