Smudts rock on! 🤘 er, wait...

| - Not actual Smundts - Michael got sick, so Scott & Megan subbed in to clap along. Let's go! |
SAMMY HAGAR... Dude is his own brand name with the career he's had. And he could do a whole show focusing on his just solo work and side projects. (I know. I've seen him at least a half a dozen times over the last 40 years, and he usually does just that.) But on this tour, he's leaning hard into his time in Van Halen.

| Van Hagar well represented, including a few rarely played favorites from 5150. Awesome! |

It's also worth noting a lineup change for this tour. Truly, only a few guitar players can faithfully reproduce Eddie Van Halen's parts. Enlisting Joe Satriani wasn't just an upgrade, but necessary. Well done by him! (though it was weird when he played a copy of the Frankenstrat late in the set, that guitar being so heavily identified with it's creator - fine line between tribute and emotional thievery)
21 songs and he left alot of meat on the bone! (not played: You're Love Is Driving Me Crazy, Three Lock Box, Bad Motor Scooter, Little White Lies, Dreams, I've Done Everything For You, I'll Fall In Love Again, Two Sides Of Love, Give to Live, or any number of other VH hits) The dude has had a career!
LOVERBOY... Not bad as an opening act, but definitely just that. Whereas Steve Miller surprised us with how great he is at 80 (EIGHTY!), Loverboy... acted their age. Good, but not great.Enough songs we all know to fill the hour, and worth the earlier arrival and extra time in the heat.
80s Rock 2024, with still more to come!
Sammy Hagar & Loverboy
