State of Volleyball

For the last two "seasons" (Spring and Summer), Danielle has been playing volleyball at PSA with her team, Ace. She thorough enjoys that team, the coach and the co-ed competition. The summer season was a bit rough (I'll refrain from posting the stats 😅), mostly due to limited team practices (that place gets busy in the summer and there are no court spots open!) and constantly changing player lineups because of summer vacations. Nonetheless, Danielle had a fun experience and continued to get touches. 

She also had the opportunity to experience a private lesson at Instinct Volleyball. It was actually a late Christmas present that finally took place! She has been wanting to improve her hitting, so she rounded up a couple friends to share the adventure. 

The above activities were an effort to ultimately prepare Daniele for high school try outs. Those tryouts consisted of four sessions -- two at 5:45 AM 😴, followed by two at 4:30pm, and a final team announcement meeting. Danielle noticed that by the final session, she seemingly had been sorted on to the side of the court with the more experienced players. Her observations were confirmed when she received the coveted paper welcoming her onto the 2024-2025 TCHS Freshman Volleyball team! She is now officially a TC VB Cougar, along with several of her former Griffin teammates and friends! (Instagram here)

High School Goal Achieved!

The team has hit the ground running and Danielle has already played in two separate scrimmages, consisting of sets against 7 different teams. Danielle got a LOT of play time, several starts and many all-around plays. 

On the horizon: two early morning practices, first day of school and then their first game! That is just the beginning of daily practices and over 2 dozen school matches. Danielle is looking forward to plenty of fun with her new teammates. Let's go!
