Naomi's Contribution

So not only is Naomi finishing her senior year of high school, completing a tough semester of Collin College classes, working on the weekends and doing all the things related to getting into college, we've also asked for one more thing. While circumstances have allowed us to save well for her college education (and our parents set a great example and graciously paid for our college education), we do want her to have some financial responsibility towards this large expense. Thus, she has spent additional brain power and hours filling out applications for scholarships! Yes, she's been denied a couple, was a finalist for one, and then...she was finally selected as a recipient!

We are grateful to the Lewisville ISD Education Fund (LEF) for selecting Naomi (and this other really tall guy) as a recipient of The Colony High School PTSA scholarship! This was the 34th year for granting scholarships, and LEF awarded $313,625 to graduating LISD seniors.

The extra cool part: we've actually known the lady on the right, for quite some time! Ms. Shelton was the assistant principal for Naomi in elementary school, and is now the assistant principal for Danielle in middle school. She was not part of the selection process, but was asked to present the award, and Naomi was excited to see a familiar face!

We are super proud of Naomi as she continues to tick off more accomplishments and new first-time experiences as she makes her way towards further independence in college!
