Last stop (for now) on the college tour train: SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY

This one is different.
After taking in the two biggest universities in Texas, walking the SHSU campus is kinda nice. With an enrollment of 21,000, it's not a "small school", but everything feels more... intimate maybe? All the same buildings (classrooms, lecture halls, residence halls, cafeteria, student center/union, etc), just smaller. Not small, smaller.
And the pizza was pretty good! Not up to par with UNT, but better than A&M and UT.

| The chocolate milk is mine. That's my testing standard. We know where Naomi's fine palate comes from. |
But what about the "prestige" factor that's so important to Naomi?
Turns out, SHSU is actually #2 in the nation for one of the majors Naomi is considering: Criminal Justice.
PAUSENaomi, Criminal Justice, really?Yes, but on the forensic science side rather than the law enforcement side.RESUME
So it's kind of a loophole: not as well known overall, but highly regarded in her potential field. And that makes it a serious contender.
TAKEAWAY: "Can you see yourself here?" If she had to choose today, this would definitely be the place for Naomi. This is the first visit where she was excited about the campus. It's very nice and the smaller size has a charm to it. If she decides to stick with Forensics/Criminal Justice as a major and potential career, SHSU would be a great choice.
But what about her interest in veterinary school? Or something else entirely? TBD.
