Triple

I get fascinated by little things, often when driving (Perhaps it is because we are such creatures of habit, I enjoy the one-offs that appear out of the ordinary). This one was observed when making the trek way over to Murphy, an unfamiliar area, for a couple of Danielle's volleyball games.

The rare TRIPLE turn!

While writing this, I did a quick googling out of curiosity. Apparently, the triple turn lane (officially referred to as TLT: triple left turn) and similarly the dual right turn (DRT) are relatively new and limited in Texas. I'm glad to have noticed it and navigated it successfully! 😏

And while I'm thinking about it, this reminds me of the other "new-ish" traffic design: Diverging Diamond Interchange. When this showed up near my parent's house in McKinney and then just down the street from us in The Colony, I thought it was the dumbest thing ever (it did not fascinate me in the same way as the triple turn). I'm not convinced it really helps traffic flow or prevents left-turn collisions, but I do know it sure makes driving through these intersections very confusing!
