Medium Dwelling in The Colony

While many of my peers have been reading the teen romance series Twilight, I've been reading something for an even younger audience. Yes, I have been spending my free time reading the Little House on the Prairie books. (Take that, you Twihards!)

I'm currently reading the sixth book The Long Winter. And today, I feel like Laura Ingalls.

I'm cold. We had our THIRD snow day today. The weather continues to hover in the 30's and 40's. The wind adds to the chill. The sun only peaks through the gray skies every so often. I have to wear socks and a jacket around the house to stay warm. It's the coldest and snowiest December that I can remember.

Ok, so maybe it's not quite the same as Laura and her family enduring blizzard after blizzard up in the Dakota's with temperatures at 40 degrees below zero. And maybe our house has not been completely covered in snow. And we do have more than just a stove to keep us warm and more than potatoes and wheat bread to eat.

But I am cold.

  1. Have you seen frost forming on the nail heads in your bedroom ceiling??

(If so, Naomi must REALLY be cold!)
