2025 Wrapped

2025's top stories around the world that caught my attention:

  • Destructive fires in LA
  • Pope Francis died, Pope Leo was installed
  • Flash flooding in central Texas - killed young campers at Camp Mystic
  • Charlie Kirk murdered
  • Russian invasion in Ukraine grinds on (though Trump claims he is fixing it)
  • Israel / Gaza conflict simmers (though Trump claims he has fixed it with his peace plan)
  • AI becomes real (for me personally at work, and all around)
  • 6 7 (if you know, you know)
  • 43-day government shutdown accomplished nothing

Highlights from our little space and time in 2025:

  • Naomi completed her freshman year and kicked off her sophomore year at Texas A&M and officially entered her MechaTronix major, went on a Spring Break trip with friends to Broken Bow, and got a new [used] Jeep Compass
  • Danielle kicked off her sophomore year in high school, said goodbye to Girl Scouts, got a job and quit a job, played libero on JV high school VB team, celebrated 1 year with Ari, turned sweet 16 and earned her driver's license
  • Jenny walked a half marathon / jogged an 8-miler, DIY'ed a backyard labyrinth, and  became VB booster club secretary
  • Jeff received honors for 20 years at the Stars and completed numerous Arcade enhancements
  • Trixie met her twin 11 years removed, gave up jogging and celebrated her dozen'th birthday
  • Celebrated 30 years of married life
  • Attended Hands-Off and No Kings protests
  • Volunteered with Special Olympics
  • Launched 4 geocaching travel bugs
  • Traveled down the road to Houston Meow Wolf and Galveston for Spring Break and St. Louis for summer break
  • Traveled to RI and Martha's Vineyard for Jaws 50th
  • N&D participated in a Mission Trip in Arkansas
  • Hornucopia summer blowout occurred locally
  • Went to "summer camp" at Tejas for Labor Day

What a splendid year—full of family, friends, and experiences that made it memorable. From big events to simple everyday joys, each month brought something worth smiling about. Now we step into a brand-new mix in 2026.
