A Scattered Spring Break Start

The clocks have sprung forward one hour while the trees are starting to have budding leaves... and both kids amazingly ended up with Spring Break during the same week! Normally, a post this time of year would be documenting a family trip somewhere, but our normal is evolving.

Naomi and her college friends planned a 2-night, 3-day adventure in Broken Bow, OK.

So, one might not be able to rent a car until age 25, but one CAN rent an Air B&B at age 18! (Translation: We stayed out of all the planning and let them do everything on their own.)

The trio started the trip with a stop at Walmart to pick up groceries, plus a follow-up stop at Dollar Tree for a few missed items. Food was plenty during their stay, as they all have different food preferences -- except for fruit, which was the common denominator.

The weather was rainy and cold, but they still managed to get out for some unique, good times!

One of the highlights back at the cabin, was setting up a portable projector and makeshift screen for movie night from the covered, outdoor hot tub!

Naomi and friends had a fun time, while experiencing another notch in their journey towards independence!

Meanwhile, Danielle organized a couple activities with friends. Things kicked off on the ice with a little ice skating! Danielle has been skating since she was a wee little human, but this was a first for Ari, who has only roller skated. Lots of circles, no falls. Only sore ankles. (Remember to wear long socks...)

Danielle then gathered up 3 other friends and headed to Six Flags for the day! Parent free. The weather was a little chilly and misty during the first half, which was not ideal but it did keep the crowds away -- hooray for shorter lines and more rides! And speaking of rides, they got stuck, TWICE! On Cat Woman's Whip and on Mr. Freeze. Turned out to be a good deal though, because they ended up with multiple Fast Pass cards!

Finally, with everyone home, it was a nice opportunity to celebrate an early Irish birthday celebration with the family.

Our troubles our less and our blessings are more, hoping for happiness through our door!
