The cooler weather arrived just in time for Halloween today! A drop from 90's to 70's in a single day -- much nicer when it feels more like fall than summer for trick'er treat'ers! But regardless of the temperatures, this Halloween felt different than the last couple of years: Naomi was doing her thing at A&M, and our usual neighborhood framily crew was spread in all different locations. Danielle was not really interested in dressing up (coincidentally, 9th grade was when Naomi stopped trick or treating...), so the three of us had our traditional family night watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" while passing out candy to about 75-ish kids and teens.
Yes, we got a few "tricks" (ie. a dance and a ninja kick). We let the kids pick the candy they wanted...
But as it got later, the kids got older and when offered the bowl, they would literally grab a handful of candy. 🙄 So after the big kids cleaned out our candy bowl, Danielle and Jeff headed out to see the best of the best nearby houses. And there are a handful of REALLY creepy, well-done houses in our neighborhood...
Danielle refused to walk through the tent. I don't blame her...you can hear the screams! Plus, she'd just been stalked by Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and caught a glimpse of Michael Myers (Halloween) inside the tent...
BTW, one of our most creepy neighborhood houses made the local news!
To end on a less scary note...Halloween coincided nicely for a special holiday edition of Jeff's Loud Thursday. Disclaimer: Loud Thursday is not always supposed to be good, it is just supposed to be loud!
