Inkless

They say: It's the little things in life... and well, I tend to agree.

One of those little things for me is the old-school Bic ballpoint pen. It is my favorite writing utensil. I like the weight of it, I like the smooth feel, it is simple, inexpensive and it doesn't smear. And it is such a great moment when I use up all the ink!

And I do tend to use up all the ink every couple months, because another little thing I love is the act of writing. Not like creating stories, I just like going through the motion of holding a pen, moving it and putting ink to paper. Meeting notes, to-lists, etc.

A related little known fact about me: back in junior high, I created my own "font". Well, it wasn't called a font back then, it was just me formulating my own handwriting style. I distinctly remember working on it, and it became a mix of cursive and print (cursive was more common back then). The main goal for me was to create something that looked round and bubbly and happy-looking. I used cursive for the letters that are easy to write but reverted to print for those weird cursive letters like s or f. It has morphed a bit over the years, but it is still the way I write today.

Yes, I recognize these are odd things that spark joy, but I supposed everyone has their own little things!

  1. I knew your little circles for the i and j dots and your roundish letters were your own style. But I never realized you had purposefully worked on developing your own 'font'. Makes me love you even more! (If that's possible...) ,❤️
