Naomi's senior activities dominated much of May and early June, but a few remaining activities of note have taken place recently.
For starters, Naomi received another scholarship, this one from the United Women of Faith at church. She graciously accepted the Donna Hines Memorial Scholarship! We are all very appreciative of this opportunity!
Another huge milestone: Naomi is retired, or maybe unemployed, or really just not working right now. She put in her 2-week notice at her place of employment and after 14 months she worked her last shift. She finally gets some much deserved, much needed free-time, before launching into a demanding freshman year at college!
Well, not a ton of free-time, because she is actually enrolled in a 10-week pre-calculus summer class at Collin College. Yeah, yeah, she was supposed to be done with Collin classes, but we discovered late in the process about pre-requisites for A&M Engineering. (NOTE: A decision back when Naomi was in 5th grade, set her on a different path for Math -- we did not put her in the advanced Math, rookie parenting mistake, which meant she did not automatically make it into pre-calc her senior year. Plus, she did not select Engineering until the summer before her senior year, after all her classes were set.) Thus, she is now catching up to ensure she has all she needs when she starts A&M in the Fall. Phew.
In her so-called free time, Naomi and Jeff continue working through the ginormous TODO list of all the things required to prepare for first day of college. It is all very exciting -- such a fantastic moment in the journey of life!
Naomi is very fortunate/blessed to have a Planasaurus Dad.
