Camping In

Another summer time activity for the Smith girls serving as volunteers at Vacation Bible School! This was Naomi and I's 7th year as a volunteer and Danielle's 3rd. The theme for this year's Vacation Bible School at church was "Camp Firelight" -- all things camping and trusting God.

It was a fun week of dancing, crafting, rec'ing and snacking. There was story time mixed in, but these wee ones sure have a tough time sitting still in the evenings -- they'd much rather just run around the room and nearly crash into each other!

Thankfully, there are many volunteers that step in and make the whole thing possible -- many hands make light work!

Something new this year was the spontaneous after-party. I think it started because Naomi was assigned to media booth, and so she had access to the internet, sound and video screen! It turned into a dance party after the kids went home -- Footloose, Boot Scootin' Boogie and a variety of Just Dance moves.

Good times for sure!
