I have to say, the more excited people are about something, the more dismissive I am of it. Straight up. I admit it. It's not a great a personality trait, but there it is. If they're that excited about it, my mind immediately assumes they're overreacting.
OMG, Taylor Swift dropped another clue for her next album! See her red earrings? Everyone is saying it'll be Red (Taylor's Version) next!
Cool. But... hasn't she already said she's rereleasing all of them to get the ownership back?
Do you guys play pickleball?!?! It's so fun! We have to go to Chicken & Pickle!
Ok...
Girls Night In was amazing! We picked up $200 of charcuterie and it was beautiful! Everyone loved it!
Oh, look at that. It's a meat and cheese tray.
See? I'm not against what they're saying, it just feels that way by comparison. So let me take a minute to clear things up...
Taylor Swift: She's not my jam, but I do fully appreciate her talents as a songwriter and musician. She's the real deal, which is kinda rare for the pop audience that is usually served by producers rather than artists. She is showing (mostly) young women what a live performance by a real musician playing real instruments looks like. HUGE props for that! 👏👏
Pickleball: Ok, people are right, pickleball is really fun! And easy to pick up. And social. I was wrong to dismiss. I am IN for this one.
Charcuterie: Yes, its yummy, and it has more stuff. But it's still basically a meat and cheese tray. We've had em at Super Bowl parties and the like forever. Enjoy! But calm down people.
