Carpenter's Bluff

Carpenter's Bluff sits on the border of Texas & Oklahoma. While never the most common route across the Red River, it's historically seen enough traffic to warrant a bridge nevertheless. Originally a railroad crossing (1910), it's now been bypassed by trucking and the new bridge built for vehicular use.

Today, the old bridge remains as a pedestrian crossing. But I wouldn't advise using the footpath!

  1. A great spot for a Valentine's Day visit... since it spans the RED river! 😄
