For her first 3 years in high school, Naomi was not at all interested in attending the Homecoming dance. However, now it's her senior year, so she's all in! Well, it totally has to do with the fact that her friends are all in, so she's got people to hang with. Homecoming is a slightly less fancy prom, which means hair can be done by mom instead of a professional.
The theme for Homecoming was "Old Hollywood" and Naomi went shopping thinking she would match the theme, but ultimately selected the dress she liked best -- another green dress, but the short version (prom=long, homecoming=short). She did make it a little more Hollywood by adding long gloves and specific jewelry.
Jeff worked his magic and captured great photos at a couple spots at nearby Grandscape. Naomi did make it easy by being a fabulous model, and nailing her fav pose.
Naomi being Naomi!
After her personal photo shoot, she met up with friends and they had plans to head to 54th Street for dinner. However, somehow they ended up at Cane's! [shrug]
Naomi had pushed for the group photo shoot to be before dinner, but her vote was trumped. By the time they finally headed to the preselected apartment complex with a cool dock and pond, unfortunately the light was a bit too dusk. Most of those photos came out blurry, but at least a few informal pics were salvaged.
They finally made it to the actual dance around 8:30p!
They did the usual dancing and jumping around until the end at 11p! She said her great-looking, but not-so-comfortable shoes came off about halfway through the night. Her and one friend opted out of the after-party (wise move, considering the rumors...) and she headed safely home! Hooray for another successful new experience!
