A&M, maybe...

Next up in the college visits: TEXAS A&M
Home of the 12th Man (left), and one visiting young lady (right).
Yes, yes, this is the big league. The prestige Naomi is after. But first, pizza.
Review: Ok, but not up to par with UNT. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
Right, so about that prestige...
Texas A&M is one of the top universities in the state for a reason: they don't take just anybody. Nope. Not only do ya gotta be top of your class smart, ya gotta have serious achievements and other credentials. But most importantly, ya gotta be ALL IN on the Aggie culture! And this admissions officer was not joking at all when he warned the prospective applicants that if they weren't excited to "Howdy!" and "Whoop!" that "this probably isn't the place for you."
Naomi: "That guy was scary!"
Dad: "Yeah, I think that's the point."
Beyond surviving the admissions presentation, the campus tour was excellent. Our not scary guides (after Whooping) passed along alot of good info while showing off the size of the campus and how to get around, along with sharing some of the traditions and why they're important. We also got a good look inside all the different residence halls which are quite varied in size and comfort. Once again leading to the overriding question: Can you see yourself here?
Maybe, but... well, maybe won't cut it! You better be sure because to get in here, you have to earn it.

TAKEAWAY: After the laid-back vibe of UNT, this was a bracer. Earning a degree from A&M would put Naomi on a path to success in whatever she decides to do, no doubt. But she'd only get there by being fully immersed in the culture. If not, "this probably isn't the place for you". I believe that's 100% true. (ask me how I know) So, we'll see.
