Florida!

Time for the ultimate Spring Break road trip...to Florida! We opted to spend our money doing things in Florida, rather than spending oodles of dollars just to fly there, so we loaded up Jeff's car and off we went as soon as Naomi and Danielle were home from school (thankful for the half day). We know how to maximize 9 full days.

1,150ish miles and 17+ hours later (plus a brief overnight...), we arrived at Cocoa Beach! Whoa, did it feel good to be out of the car. (Although, Naomi and Danielle felt accomplished listening to all their podcasts and audio books!)

It was late in the day and the temperature was not really conducive to getting in the water, but it was perfect for strolling along the shore and hunting for shells. (And Naomi needn't worry about sharks at this depth.)

Our trip started at the beach, and we bid farewell to Florida with a stop at a different beach! (And again, it was too chilly to be in the water, but we got our fill of the sound of waves.)

And Naomi saw no sharks, nor a purple warning flag. Phew.

While most of our time was spent on the BIG things one thinks of in Florida, we did fit in a few other activities (like shoe shopping! eh?). A much needed "rest" day in between the early rising, long days at theme parks allowed us to enjoy Pi Day and a Blaze pizza discount!

Mini golf is a perennial favorite on our family vacations, and it's even better when it's got a touch of Disney magic!

And it is a small world after all! So fun to run into our framily friends at our Disney hotel. We knew that The Colony High School band, choir, theater and drill team were going to Disney during Spring Break, but we never really put it all together until we were there!
