Christmastime Is Here

The runway to Christmas is quickly vanishing as we move nearer to December 25! We've been adding love and peace and joy where we can, but the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the shortest possible this year (only 27 days) and has flown by! 

In that time, we managed to include three post-Thanksgiving Operation Christmas Child processing nights, with different friends and framily. The outing with our dear friends was actually a make-up from last year, when that date was cancelled due to no more boxes to process. Tip: Don't volunteer the last week -- because the earlier groups are going to crush it and leave you nothing to do! We did our part to crush it. Sorry, last-week signups...

We processed boxes headed to Dominican Republic, Paraguay and Ukraine!

Observation: The shoebox processing is facilitated in a ginormous warehouse. To keep things from looking small and insignificant, the decorating team goes big on the extras! Notice the HUGE American flag in the background, all the oversized billboard sized photos on the walls and the great big tree!

The three Smith girls did our best to appreciate the 2D penguins and re-imagined Christmas Comes to The Colony show. (It is just not the same as the good 'ol days...and this year was even further removed because they added more songs for the drill team, meaning less for the theater troupe. sigh.)

At the same time, Jeff's had a busy run of Dallas Stars games where he, Michael & Garrett get to Christmas things up for fans!

Last but not least, Trixie had her moment of holiday fun too! Well, she tried to relax, but it is hard to do when there's a big bearded guy looming over you.
