Paying Homage

When in Memphis... ALL HAIL THE KING!

Actually, this guy was fantastic! From the hip shakin and lip sneerin of the early hits, to the karate kicks and dramatic hand gestures of the later show tunes, he was spot on Elvis for over an hour. His American Trilogy was almost a religious experience for the 50-75 strangers who stood and held hands. Apparently, the Dixielanders are still pretty serious about Dixieland!

While Danielle wasn't too into it (she slept thru the second half of the show), Naomi definitely enjoyed the living history lesson, and the peanut butter & banana sandwich that went with it. (pretty good really, if you've never tried it)

Of course, "living" history isn't quite the whole Elvis story though, is it. So a visit to meet the real Elvis felt like the right thing to do.

This is what too much of a good thing (like yummy peanut butter & banana sandwiches) will get ya.

Long live the King!
