Headin' East

To celebrate a week off of school and work, we loaded up the car, dropped Fuzzles at the neighbors and Trixie at the Houn House and headed east for a 1,000+ mile adventure to meet up with my family for the annual Hornucopia. Jeff worked his magic and created a fun-filled itinerary to make the drive manageable and enjoyable.

Our first state (out of 8 states total) and first pit-stop was the Louisiana Children's Museum. The girls had fun with the hands-on exhibits. Giant bubbles are great!

The museum was set up for winter and the holidays, which allowed the girls to enjoy their first snowstorm of the season!

It also meant there was a special visitor hanging around!

We had a quick overnight stay in Meridian, Mississippi, home of cheap gas!

We drove across Alabama and arrived at our next destination: Atlanta, Georgia. When in Atlanta, you must experience The Varsity and when they ask "What'll ya have? What'll ya have?", you should try a tasty hot dog, with cole slaw.

Unless you are a chicken-a-terian, like Naomi, and then you can try the nuggets. But either way, you must get a Frosted Orange (Large!).

We took advantage of our Six Flags season passes and went to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags over Georgia. We enjoyed a few rides, but mostly took in the holiday festivities...

...including unlimited refills on hot chocolate!

This guy was clearly following us.

After about 1,100 miles and passing through one more state, South Carolina, we arrived in beautiful North Carolina, the friendly state. Next up: Hornucopia Thanksgiving 2015!
