As part of Danielle's birthday week, she got to experience her first slumber party. While she has attended all of Naomi's sleepovers, she has never had her own. Well, Naomi did a good job training her, because Danielle had a blast on her first go-around!
This was really only possible for these young 5-year-olds thanks to our neighborhood group that we have come to know and love over the last year. There are 4 families that all live within a few houses of each other and these girls spend oodles of time together, so they are all comfortable with each other and comfortable at our house.
As for the party, there was lots of time playing and squealing and running around. The girls ate pizza, painted frames and rings, and played some more. PJ time was the best -- they were so excited to show off their favorite sleeping clothes!
I'm happy to report that all the girls made it through the night and everyone woke up happy and ready to play some more. That happiness was amplified when one of the other mom's showed up with DONUTS for breakfast! SWEET! (Thanks Sabrina...you are the best!)
One lesson learned: Don't select a "teen movie" musical (ie. Descendants) as the calm-down, going-to-bed movie!
The upbeat dance songs are just too energizing!
