Exactly As I Remember It

4th grade.

Well, I had a good run.

While Parent Lunch Week at Morningside Elementary used to cause for total excitement, it's now a mixed bag of "Yes, please come, but do NOT embarrass me!" As if...

See, I like to look at the school menu and come on a day when I can re-live my childhood a bit with a soy cheeseburger or crunchy burrito or some other entree that I remember liking as a kid. And that used to be okay. Naomi and I would go thru the cafeteria line with the rest of her class and it was all good. But lately, she's been adamant about me bringing lunch when I come, not because she's demanding something specific, but because she doesn't want me going thru the line with her anymore! Alas, it's too embarrassing.

So how am I supposed to get my fix anymore?!?!?

Well, we worked out an arrangement: I bring lunch for her, she buys lunch for me! (the sitting and eating together part is still fine) And it's a good thing too, because I was not missing this one...

Review: Exactly as I remember it. (not a glowing assessment, but it did not disappoint) (actually, it really was pretty good in an "exactly as I remember it" sort of way)

So anyway, it's smooth sailing ahead for Parent Lunch Week at least a little while longer, which is good because I think the feast will show up on the menu again right before the Christmas break. Plus I still haven't made it up there on pizza day yet.

No worries though. No matter what happens with Naomi, I still have Danielle!
