Alex's Lemonade Stand

It all started with a book that my younger sister got me: Heroes for my Daughter.

There was a short story in that book about a little 4-year-old girl named Alex who had cancer and had a lemonade stand to raise money to help doctors find a cure for her and other kids.

That story inspired Naomi to have a lemonade stand.

So we did! We did it using resources and supplies from Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

I had fun preparing for the event. The kids enjoyed working the event -- serving lemonade, painting faces, offering Lemonhead candies.
NOTE: We were set up right next to the neighborhood pool -- so the kids got to swim a little when business was slow!

We raised $70 for the foundation (a little short of our $100 goal, but still worth the effort and time!)

Hooray for summer and for helping others!
