Pee Hole, Part II

I wouldn't say they're best buds or anything, but Naomi & Amigo do hang out quite a bit and get along pretty well for the most part (if you consider Amigo's indifference getting along). So, I guess we shouldn't have been surprised that while Amigo was ill with her bladder infection, Naomi started complaining about being sick too. (though she does like to hijack other people's thoughts from time to time, so one can never be too sure)

She didn't seem to be feeling bad and didn't have any fever, but when she started complaining that her sides hurt and we noticed her itching her uh... "area", we decided she prolly wasn't just copying Amigo and scheduled an appointment with the doctor to get checked out first thing Monday morning. (why do our kids ALWAYS get sick on the weekend?)

And oh boy what a fun, pee-filled Monday morning that was for Dad (Jenny was at work)...
  • 07:15 - get Naomi & Danielle up and ready for school
  • 08:15 - drop Danielle off
  • 08:45 - Naomi's doc appt where we had to huddle up in the bathroom to get a sample (unsuccessful - stage fright)
  • 09:30 - drop off prescription and swing by the house to try again to collect sample on home turf (successful - years of diaper changing came in useful there, i was unflinching despite having every reason to), leave sample in fridge
  • 09:45 - pick up prescription and give first dose
  • 10:00 - drop Naomi off at school
  • 10:10 - back to the house to collect sample from Amigo (did I forget to mention Naomi & Amigo's appointments were on the same morning?)
  • 10:20 - Amigo's vet appt
  • 11:30 - back home and give first dose of Amigo's prescription, shower for the day
  • 12:15 - drive to LabCorp to drop off Naomi's sample (they're closed 12-1pm - gaa!)
  • 12:30 - meet a friend for lunch at Jason's Deli (put pee on ice, literally)
  • 01:45 - successfully drop off Naomi's sample at LabCorp
  • 02:00 - home, aahhhh
  • 04:00 - pick up Naomi & Danielle from school
Anyway, as it turns out, Naomi & Amigo, those two knuckleheads... they had the same illness!
Who knew that bladder infections were contagious??? And across species??? (ok, maybe it's just a doozy of a coincedence, but i don't know about those two...)

But wait there's more!

Amigo got an x-ray, so Naomi's doc had to schedule some kind of follow up too, right?
Yeah, a freakin ultrasound. Unbelievable. Funny side story though: Naomi kept asking if she had a baby in her belly. :)

Everything checked out fine and she's back to normal. And, no, there was no baby, but she did get introduced to her bladder and kidneys.

I'm sick of pee.
