Aunt of the Year

Naomi and Danielle have 4 very cool and caring aunts. However, without a doubt, I must present the 2010 Aunt of the Year Award to my little sister....

Aunt Jessica!

She went above and beyond the aunt-call-of-duty at Hornucopia and Naomi ate it up! The love affair really took off when Aunt Jessica took Naomi and John on a fish hunt around the beach house one afternoon. The "fish": shoes. Aunt Jessica introduced the kids to the popular sandal fish, the infamous flip-flop fish, the rare croc fish and the classic shoe fish. (There was also the elusive "Thinkingfish", but that's a whole other post!)
And oh, the power of the beloved aunt. If Naomi was "being three", Aunt Jessica had the magic touch to convince Naomi to cooperate on anything. (She also has magic tickle cream [aka. hydrocortisone] which can heal any bump or bruise!)

Naomi became her little shadow for much of the time we were together in Florida. She followed her around and wanted to know where she was at all times! She wanted to sit next to Aunt Jessica...

And sometimes even that wasn't close enough. But no problem, Aunt Jessica would find a way to keep Naomi close!

  1. I second that! It was wonderful, like having a 21st century Mary Poppins!

  2. Agreed. Not sure if Aunt Jessica was doing it to give us a break, bond with her neice & nephew, or just have fun, but whatever it was, she was AWESOME. On top of everything else, there was also some kite flying and treasure hunting on the beach.

    You rock Aunt Jessica. :)

  3. Oh man, I'm blushing big time. You must be able to feel the heat from cheeks all the way across the ocean!

I had a really good time - it's easy being an aunt when you've got two very fun preschoolers to hang out with!

  4. Ooops sorry should have kept my "Cool Aunt" cool.

    I mean...

I'd like to thank my agent, my Mom and Dad, and all my fans.

I'd like to thank the Thinkingfish for all its support.

And I'd like to thank John and Naomi without whom, none of this would be possible.

I like to think that in some small way, I've made the world a better place for soon-to-be four year olds. But you've got to believe.

    You've got to BELIEVE.
