No More New Things

I can't keep up. I don't know why, but I can't.

Since Danielle came on the scene, I am constantly working from a to-do list. Some of it is Jenny's fault with her quick shutter finger providing me a neverending flood of new photos that have to be weeded thru and organized. But it's not just that. Lately, taxes have loomed over me, my pc got a Windows 7 upgrade and had to get back in order, and I worked a few Stars games. Doesn't sound like alot, but when ya throw in family & friend get togethers, it's all I can do to keep my head above water. Don't get me wrong, it's mostly good stuff and self inflicted, it's just burying me.

And then there's TV. We only follow about 4 shows. That's 4 hours a week where we try to sit down and watch something specific. Easy, right? Then why are we on episode 4 of Survivor when everyone else is on episode 10? And why do I have to steer clear of any/all mentions of Lost on the internet because we haven't seen the latest episode yet and I don't wanna spoil it for myself?

I have a few books on my bedside table and I'd like to actually read em. Thus far though, their only purpose has been as a carrot to get the to-dos done. Problem is, they've been waiting for me since my birthday - last October!

So, when people say "why don't you play hockey?" or "you haven't seen Avatar?" or "you need an iPhone!", that all sounds good, and maybe I'll think about it, but it's prolly not gonna happen. And it's prolly not even going on the to-do list. Thinking about it gives me tired-head.

No more new things.

  1. I feel your pain. It's all about prioritizing... that's why I don't watch any TV anymore, and movies are a two to three hour time investment that I'm very careful to make.
I don't even have time to make to-do lists any more... and I love lists!!

  5. Yes Val! It was after our conversation the other day, that I decided No More New Things was the life for me. You're an inspiration. (or sort of reverse inspiration in this case)
